While most of the main attraction in the state can be accessed via paved roads, many trailheads and forest service access roads are dirt. The real 4wd advantage is for winter driving, we equip our Jeep, Tacoma, and 4Runner rentals with snow tires. Having four wheel drive will help you drive safely, however remember defensive cautious driving in the Winter is your best bet!

WE LOVE TO! This is why we love what we do! Our team is Montana raised and proud of all the opportunities our beautiful state offers, we truly enjoy sharing our knowledge of the state and countless recreation opportunities and educating visitors on best practices to keep land healthy and available for generations to come! Please note: we will not plan out your entire trip, however we gladly provide recommendations that fit within your schedule and proposed trip goals!

Not only are the Jeep JKU-J30 Wranglers and Toyota Tacomas the quintessential Western adventure vehicles, the Ursa Minor and Go-Fast Campers roof top tent/campers are extremely comfortable and efficient to use, allowing you both comfort and time to focus on the adventure at hand.

Uber, Lyft or Taxi is the best and cheapest way to get to our shop. We are only 15 minutes from the airport, and a ride costs between $25-$40. We can pick you up at the airport however this will add a 10% airport concession fee to your entire reservation total plus a $50 convenience fee. We are happy to pick you up at the airport for your convenience however if you would like to save the additional 10% charge and pickup fee please take an Uber/Lyft/taxi to our Four Corners location, its super hassle free!

Campers are typically due back to our location at the same time it was picked up on the last day of your stay. Because we operate a small fleet to offer the best personalized service in the industry we must have vehicles back by this time to ensure our next customers have their camper available. Because customer service is our priority, do not hesitate to call or email us to further discuss your trip logistics, with advance notice we are happy to accommodate your needs. If you are late you may be charged up to an additional rental day.

During Covid-19 pandemic, we are unable to offer our standard complementary ride back to the airport. You will be required to take a taxi or Uber back to BZN. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Unlike most rental companies our goal is to make everything you sign and pay completely transparent. A 4% tax is applied to your reservation total, this is a Montana required tax applied to all rental vehicles/campers. A 10% concession fee is charged by the Bozeman Airport if we pick you up at the airport (see Pick Up). No other fees will be applied to your reservation. Please see Mileage section below for “free” mileage allowance. Please see Policies for specific charges you may be responsible for regarding damage or policy violations

You will receive 175 miles per booked night of your rental, with a trip total being clearly provided upon pick up. Additional miles will be charged at a rate of $0.35 per mile. Most people do not even come close to exceeding this mileage, the reason we cap the mileage is to ensure you are getting the most out of Montana, and do not decide to use our vehicle to go cross country or drive excessively. At 175 miles per day you can do Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks in a week long trip without running over!!

If something comes up and you need to reschedule your trip, we would be happy to work with you provided we have units available for your requested dates, just give us a call.

If you cancel prior to 30 days in advance you will receive a full refund less credit card transaction fees(~6%). If you cancel between 30 days and 8 days prior to pick up the 25% booking deposit is forfeited. If your reservation is cancelled one week or less from pick up date you will be refunded half of the total booking price. We will not refund you due to bad weather, however we will provide you with advice on how to make the best of a Montana storm!

The campers set up and tear down with three simple steps, and take less than 1 minute. Getting into the campers does take some physical strength as you have to get up through the opening to bed platform which is about waist high. Check out our videos on YouTube and in our Gallery for more info. If you have any specific concerns please don’t hesitate to contact us.

The campers are designed and optimized for two people. The sleeping area is approximately 4 feet wide by 7 feet long. If you are wanting to experience Montana as a family please give us a call and we can give you some ideas! Our double cab Tacomas offer plenty of seating for the whole family and ample space for gear in the bed, beneath the camper. While 3-4 CAN’T sleep in the topper tent, an additional traditional tent or awning room can be rented, or the kids can sleep in the bed of the pickup!

While there is plenty of room in our Jeep pop ups, you will want to pack only what you need, we will have you covered on the camping essentials. Make sure you bring the right gear not ALL of your gear. We will be more than willing to help you with your packing list. Our tacoma pop ups have substantially more room in their 6 foot pickup bed, however we make the same suggestions as for the Jeep, pack smart! Check back soon for how we pack our rigs for a camping trip.

As much as our team loves animals, pets are not allowed in our rental vehicles.

If you have something in mind ask first and we will be happy to work with you!

Generally the best protection is to provide us with your own auto insurance policy and proof that it covers rental vehicles, we will verify with your insurance company. Collision and Comprehensive insurance as well as liability are required. If you do not currently have collision and comprehensive on your personal vehicles it can be added onto your policy for the duration of the rental. Please note however, you are personally responsible for any damage done and loss of use endured by Hatch Adventures. You may also choose to purchase insurance during the booking process should you not have your own policy or want the rental specific full coverage.

If you are visiting from abroad, welcome! You will be required to purchase the insurance offered during checkout. You will be required to provide us a photocopy of your valid drivers license, an international drivers permit (IDP obtained in your country of residence). Please call or email us to discuss insurance and planning your trip with one of our adventure vehicles!

Our rafts are easy to learn to row, but still require some modicum of skill before some stretches of river are undertaken. If you are a novice oarsman, we highly recommend sticking to the parts of the river we tell you to. If you have never rowed a raft, we highly recommend you go with a guide first and ask for some rowing instruction or take a lesson!

Since all our rafts include oars and a frame, we recommend no more than 3 people per raft, 4 can work if creative, however the fishing frames only have 3 designated seats.

Renters are responsible for their own river shuttle. We recommend the app ShuttleSnap. It is incredibly easy to use, offers shuttles with the best companies on all the major waterways of the state, and you can pay for your shuttle with a credit card right on the app. Most river shuttles are between $25-40 if you want it done for you.

Definitely! We offer multi-day packages with customizable expedition and fishing frames, large coolers, and everything you need to make your multi-day raft trip a success. Call us to talk about your trip and how we can fit your needs.
